I recently moved, just to a different address. I must stay in Louisville, KY because that’s where my ex-wife lives, who has shielded our daughter here from daylight. When you refuse to abandon your child, you make sacrifices. She doesn’t understand such a thing.
Anyway, while I wait for the next legal hearing or whatever hoop has been created, I chose a location downtown, which in Louisville, KY in 2023, is like living on the South Side of Chicago to me.
When I was in Charleston and Beaufort, SC, where I’m from, we’d have horse-drawn carriages come down the street about every hour full of tourists and entertainers showing tourists the towns. I remember the creaking of the carriages and clomping of the horses, with the driver yelling all sorts of historical info at his or her audience.
And I’m hearing similar sounds where I am now. But the wheels going down the street and informative yelling have been replaced with grocery carts of rags, wagons of garbage, and the homeless captain yelling profanity at a garbage can that got in his way.
